Freedom Family is a Nigerian non-governmental organization dedicated to strengthening democratic participation and promoting transparent electoral processes. Through election-day observation, civic engagement, and field-based reporting, we work to provide credible information about the electoral process and encourage citizens to participate responsibly.
Our work is guided by principles of independence, integrity, inclusion, transparency, and respect for the democratic process. We collaborate with trained observers, community stakeholders, and relevant partners to document developments across polling locations and contribute to a better-informed public.
Our vision is a Nigeria where every citizen can participate freely and responsibly in a democratic process that is transparent, inclusive, peaceful, and accountable. We envision an electoral environment where reliable information is available to citizens and where the voices and experiences of communities are properly represented.
Through observation, civic awareness, and constructive engagement, Freedom Family seeks to contribute to stronger democratic institutions and greater public confidence in the electoral process.
Freedom Family was established from a shared commitment to strengthening democracy and encouraging responsible civic participation in Nigeria. Over time, our work has focused on engaging communities, supporting civic awareness, and observing electoral processes from the perspective of citizens and stakeholders.
Our election observation activities bring together trained individuals and community networks to document what happens on election day, gather information from the field, and promote a culture of transparency and peaceful participation. As we grow, we remain committed to learning, improving our methods, and serving the public interest.
